When I was in the 6th grade, on my first day of school the Edmondsons became my favorite teachers. They were the band directors at the junior high and the high school. Band was already my favorite class but having them there to teach me how to use the music for anything that you needed it for truly made it awesome.
I went through some really hard times during my 7th grade year and Mr. and Mrs. Ed were the people I went to for advice. They were the kind of people that would never judge a person and they were always willing to stop what they were doing to talk. One time that I remember most of all was when my mom's boyfriend went to prison. He was a really big part of mine and my brother's lives, so we both took it pretty hard. I missed a lot of school, and even when I was there I wasn't interested in anything the class was doing. The Eds showed me that music was a really good way to cope. When they moved away my sophomore year the entire band was devastated, but we didn't lose that love that we had all developed for the music we played.
Music is still the only thing that helps me get through the bad things in life and I owe it all to them.
